Compact Room Temperature Terahertz Transceivers
Terahertz science as a separate research field appeared after the pioneering experiments of D. Auston, when he demonstrated generation and detection of terahertz (THz) radiation in a semiconductor and a nonlinear crystal. Since then, no ultimate universal THz transmitter has been demonstrated. In this webinar hosted by the Optical Communications Technical Group, Andrei Gorodetsky will give a short overview of the most popular existing THz sources with a special focus to compact sources of THz radiation operating at room temperature, and highlight the most recent ongoing research on THz transceiviers development.

Subject Matter Level: Introductory - Assumes little previous knowledge of the topic

What You Will Learn:
• Concepts of building THz sources and transceivers
• Limitations and challenges raising from components sizes

Who Should Attend:
• Researchers at any career stage wanting to learn more of emerging THz technologies;
• Researchers working with THz technologies wanting to know more about compact designs of transceivers
