Materials and Designs for Wavelength Selective Infrared Devices
In this webinar organized by the Nanophotonics Technical Group, Prof. Tadaaki Nagao will discuss the use of various nanophotonic and nanoplasmonic structures for the wavelength selective absorption and emission phenomena and then further discuss their applications primarily in the near to mid infrared wavelength region. In conventional IR emitters and IR detectors, which normally adopt greybody of blackbody perfect absorbers, their spectral distribution is not tunable/designable and remains rather broad. The webinar will focus on strategies to flexibly design and realize wavelength selectivity for IR devices as per the requirements. This webinar also focuses on the material design and synthesis of high-temperature/high-performance plasmonic materials, which are exemplified from Nagao’s latest developments.
